A policy-driven spending control gateway that decides whether an AI agent may make a given purchase, with human approval for larger amounts.
The gateway is a decision engine. It does not handle payments itself; Stripe Link CLI or another payment method performs the transaction. It returns APPROVED, REJECTED, or REQUIRES_APPROVAL. Spending rules live in a YAML policy file covering amount limits, merchant allowlists, category blocks, business hours, and duplicate windows. It is built as an MCP server, works with Claude Code and Cursor, blocks duplicate purchases with a SQLite-backed dedupe window, and can route over-threshold purchases to Telegram approval.
The open-source version runs entirely locally with no API keys or external services, and the gateway never sees card, token, or Stripe credentials. Install with npm install -g @actonce/spend-gateway. Paid tiers (Pro $24/mo, Team $99/mo, Business $299/mo) add a hosted dashboard and team features.
